The Enugu State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has called on aggrieved members of the party to sheathe their swords and work for the progress of the party ahead of the general elections slated for February and March 2023.

Mbah who made this call over the weekend at Amagunze, Nkanu East local government headquarters, during the statutory monthly meeting of the PDP held at the party office, further enjoined supporters of the party to see themselves as shareholders in the affairs of the party by reaching to aggrieved members and non-party members.

Acknowledging cheers from the teeming party supporters, Mbah also charged the people of Nkanu East to see themselves as critical shareholders in the project ahead by reaching out to people from other local government areas in the state through the constitution of reconciliation committees that would preach forgiveness, brotherhood and sportsmanship.

Calling for active participation by party members during the monthly local government party meetings, the 2023 governorship hopeful stressed that the people of Nkanu East must be at the forefront of the struggle by taking exemplary steps for others to emulate.

“In Enugu State politics, Nkanu East people are shareholders and must imbibe ownership mentality by reaching out to others in the state. We must participate and be at the forefront of politics by reconciling all political differences in the party across the state. Just like we don’t have division in the PDP in our local government, we should also see that party members return to our fold in other areas,” Mbah said.

Mbah who further enjoined PDP faithful to make the meeting a priority by extending the same to the polling units added that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the leadership of the party gave the council area multiple-generational opportunity that should not be taken for granted by the people.

According to him, “We’ve been given a multiple-generational opportunity by the State and we must not take that for granted. Our monthly meeting should be taken seriously. Just like l told all my supporters from different local government areas to attend their respective local government meetings to show we are out for serious business, we don’t have to be idle as owners of this project. We must appreciate our status as shareholders.

“Like the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Augustine Nnamani said last week, we should go beyond ward meeting to polling booth meeting. Make no mistake; PDP is as solid as ever. We’ll replicate what have done in the last 23 years, and 2023 will not be an exception.”

Meanwhile, Mbah has lauded the giant strides of the local government chairman, Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh over his commitment to improving the welfare of the people through new infrastructures.

Inspecting the ongoing construction of a modern multi-purpose hall recently embarked by the council chairman in Amagunze, Mbah expressed his delight over the legacy project, saying it would alleviate the plight of the people.

“The project is impressive with its full capacity. It’s commendable and ambitious.

“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate Nkanu East and I am happy with you. The information at my disposal shows you appreciate the value of what we are doing,” he added.
